Carpenter and General Construction (3 positions)

Purpose

Camp Altiplano is the first ecosystem restoration camp to be built by the Ecosystem Restoration Camps Foundation. The purpose of this camp is to house, feed and teach an average of 50 people from around the world techniques of ecosystem restoration and human conflict resolution so as to create a more beautiful world. The camp will therefore need to include temporary structures for housing, cooking, feeding, teaching, sanitation, and socialising.

Description

The first Ecosystem Restoration Camp in Murcia, Spain is looking for carpenters and general builders for a temporary period from January to mid-April in order to build the Altiplano Camp. This includes building:

  • Dwellings and facilities from wooden structure
  • Dome for the community hall
  • Insulation for the most of the structure
  • A functional kitchen
  • A sustainable energy and water system for 50 people

Skills Required

RequiredDesirable
Experience working with wood and carpentry power tools. We have a fairly complete wood shop established.Willingness and ability to live in community in a remote environments
Experience with insulation.Being proactive and independent.
Experience working with sustainable and local material.

Dates

From January to mid April 2018, with possibility to stay longer.

Volunteer Experience

This is a volunteer experience. The Ecosystem Restoration Camp will cover expenses of accommodation, food and transportation around the area.
